As an executive - but also as a doctor, a pilot or a politician - you make high stakes, high-pressure decisions that affect people’s lives every day. The pressure on you to perform at your best is intense and unrelenting.

But it also might be exciting to perform at a high level, and you might enjoy the pressure of being a sought-after expert.

Yet, when those peaks of stress become a plateau of pressure, it can manifest behaviorally in unhealthy ways of addictions, like alcohol, excessive sport, food or the work itself. Or it can have an impact on your mental health, like sleeping disorders, exhaustion, anxieties or burnout. Or it can have an impact on your physical health, like irritable bowel syndrome, heart diseases, overweight or reflux.

You may have tried productivity apps, therapy or medication. But it only helped you to alleviate the symptoms for a time, not to address the root causes for lasting results.

 
 
 

I understand the unique pressures of high-performing professionals because I was one. I loved my job as a medical doctor in emergency medicine and on intensive care. It was an adrenaline rush every shift and the stakes were as high as life and death. My work was exciting and meaningful, but that pressure built over time and I tended to bring it home.

Even though I practiced Western medicine back then, I knew the answers to handling pressure better, optimizing my performance and improving my overall health weren’t all to be found there.

When I began practicing meditation, mindfulness and self-hypnosis I discovered how to release the pent-up pressure in a natural way and access my inner resources to stay calm, present and mentally agile — no matter what.

Now I combine my medical training with other highly effective, scientifically proven methods to improve focus, stamina and mindfulness - while decreasing stress, and stress-related health issues.

It’s a whole-person approach to health and productivity that I believe is missing in Western medicine, and definitely missing in most work environments.
